Ever wonder why our great grandparents seemed to live so long despite their love for bacon grease and bread? It may have had something to do with the fact that they were on their feet every day and lifting things. Research shows that if you have more muscle…you may live longer!
A researcher named Preethi Srikanthan looked at older people (between 1989 and 2004) and found that those with greater muscle mass were 20% less likely to die than their scrawny (or fat) counterparts.
